On-Site Laboratory Testing

Elite Metal Finishing offers our clients a wide range of testing to meet their individual needs.

Salt Spray Test: Accelerated corrosion test that produces a corrosive attack to the coated metals in order to predict its suitability in use as a protective finish.

Water Immersion Test: Accurate, cost efficient method of testing for corrosion on stainless steel, which involves cycling parts in and out of distilled water

Copper Sulfate Test: A validation of the presence of free iron which is usually introduced onto the surface of a part during machining or fabrication process of stainless steel parts.

Electrical Resistivity Test: Measuring how strongly the applied coating opposes the flow of electrical current. A low resistivity indicates a material that readily allows the movement of electrical charge. This test can be performed prior to corrosion testing, and then again after test completion in an effort to quality the coatinsg durability.

Lap Shear Test: This test is used to verify the shear strength of adhesives for bonding metals when tested on a single-lap-joint specimen.

T-Peel Test: This test evaluates the force required to progressively separate two bonded, flexible adherends by means of a T-type specimen. The term “flexible” refers to the ability of the adherend to bend through 90 degrees without breaking or cracking.

Micro Hardness Test: Evaluates the relative micro-hardness of a material, particularly for very brittle materials or thin sheets, where only a small indentation may be made for testing purposes.

Tape Adhesion Testing: This test method uses pressure sensitive tape to determine the adhesion quality of platings, marking inks or paints, and other materials.
