Electroless Nickel
Electroless nickel, or EN for short, is a chemical process that deposits a protective coating of a nickel phosphorous alloy onto the object’s surface. Electroless nickel plating does not, unlike electroplating, require any electricity. Rather, the nickel is deposited onto the surface metal via an autocatalytic process which deposits the coating in a uniform density to the surface being plated regardless of the item’s shape. The electroless nickel coating can be applied on steel, iron, copper, brass, zincated aluminum and copper alloys and helps protect the object from wear and tear as well as chemical corrosion or oxidation.
